This qualification equips learners with the skills and confidence to explore how different business situations affect business decisions. It is a well-rounded introduction to the subject. The qualification will encourage learners to make informed choices about a wide range of further learning opportunities and career pathways as well as develop life skills that enable them to become financially and commercially aware.

As a department we are always looking at ways of making the subject as practical and hands on as possible. Each year we take the students on an educational visit to allow them to transfer theory from the classroom into a real business situation. In the past few years, this trip has been to Cadbury World, Bourneville and more recently Longleat Safari Park, Wiltshire. We also actively encourage local businesses to talk to our students about particular subject areas to support their learning.
