School Uniform

John Hanson School has a strict uniform policy.

We are proud of our strong sense of community and believe that our uniform is fundamental to this shared sense of belonging.  We have the highest expectations for all students and have worked hard to ensure that our uniform meets the following core principles and is inclusive for all:

  • Affordability
  • Durability
  • Wearability/comfort
  • Aesthetics – smart and consistent

We expect all students to wear their uniform correctly at all times, which includes the journey to and from school.  Students who arrive to school wearing incorrect uniform will be expected to correct this.  This may involve parents bringing missing items into school, or the student being offered loan items from our small bank of uniform and shoes.  We thank parents for their ongoing support and partnership.

Thank you for taking the time to share feedback on our school uniform via the consultation survey.  We received a total of 358 parental responses, 731 student responses and 70 staff responses, so have a great representation of views across our school community.  Please see the letters outlining our response to the consultation below.
